Welcome Home Jersey City
Welcome Home Jersey City is an all-volunteer organization who partners with local government, businesses, and other like-minded, not-for-profit organizations to help support local refugees and asylees in the Greater Jersey City area.
Fun Club Latino Night! Yesterday evening our families enjoyed a fun Latino-themed evening filled with games, food, and communtiy. We played games like lotería, parqués (the Colombian version of Parcheesi), and matching games while kids also got homework help and time to play together. ![]()

We were also able to enjoy cheese and beef empanadas made by one of our own friends who is an asylum seeker from Colombia and we were grateful to be able to support her with a well-deserved payment. We also enjoyed homemade Cuban pernil and rice, pizza, and chips & salsa. For dessert we had yummy Colombian coffee and cookies thanks to our volunteers who donated snacks! ![]()

It was also special to welcome a few Afghan women who joined us and brought their own meal to break their fast. Nights like this remind us how beautiful it is to share cultures and build community together. 💛

We were generously invited to attend the home opener this past weekend to watch NY Red Bulls take on New England, and our families had an absolute blast!![]()

This past weekend our 3D Committee delivered 65 bags filled with staples like rice, flour, oil, beans, pasta + halal meat vouchers to our families in time for Ramadan next week! We partnered with ICNA Relief of NJ—our thanks to Hasan and his team for these donations for our families.![]()

One of our superstar students, Wadia, took first place in the Jersey City Public Schools Science Fair! We are incredibly proud of her especially after earning second place last year and coming back to take the win this year. Way to go, Wadia! ⭐️
